A tale of wacky inventions and skullduggery from the hand of Ian Fleming, this is children’s classic about a hapless inventor who makes a flying car. Filmed in several locations across Europe, one location shows off the beauty of the car as well as the Cote D’Azur more than anywhere else - Plage de la Briande at Cap Taillat near Ramatuelle. Shot in Super Panavision 70, the cinematograhpy of the scene is crisp and colourful and director Ken Hughes didn’t fail to exploit the beauty of the area. Sally Ann Howes and the children are shown on the beach, known as a isthmus (a narrow piece of land that joins two larger masses together). It is one of the Riviera’s few naturally sandy beaches and is located 10km southeast of St Tropez.
