In the seventh 007 outing for Bond, Sean Connery impersonates a diamond smuggler to infiltrate a smuggling ring. Although most of the action was filmed in Las Vegas, Connery makes a pre-title appearance at the Hotel de Cap Eden-Roc on Cap d'Antibes, where he finds Marie, played by French actress and Miss World 1953, Denise Perrier.  Ms. Perrier, who is now known as Ms. Perrier-Lanfranchi, was 36 years old when she filmed this scene. Her father was the mayor of Nice, France.

Built originally as a private mansion, the hotel opened as a hotel in 1870. Carved into the rock in 1914, the iconic swimming-pool is without any doubt one of the most emblematic places in the property where many celebrities have immortalized their stay, including The Beatles. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and offering its guests idyllic panoramas of the French Riviera, from Juan-les-Pins to the Estérel coastline and the Lérins Islands, the hotel has just completed a 45 million euro restoration. Chanel made use of the exact same location to launch their Spring 2012 fashion collection
